  • Dynamic Category Filters - is anyone using this paid feature?

UPDATE: Upon speaking with 3DCart it seems that there is a product they sell called FusionBot, which would probably meet my needs. So, I shall create another post asking if anyone is using FusionBot. Thanks!

Hi, I am still very new to 3DCart, but am getting the hang of some of it. My site will be a Made in America products site, and I know that I need product filtering by all of the basic elements such as color, size, etc. But I have a special need, which is to "grade" the products by how American-made they actually are. I have a 5 star grading system I'd like to implement, which will require me being able to accomplish this:
    • 5 stars = American-owned company, with product manufactured in America and made of materials 100% sourced from America
    • 4 stars = American-owned company, with product manufactured in America and made of materials substantially sourced from America
    • 3 stars = American-owned company, with product manufactured in America and only a small percentage of the materials sourced from America
    • 2 stars = Foreign-owned company, with product manufactured in America and made of materials substantially sourced from America
    • 1 star = Foreign-owned company, with product manufactured in America and only a small percentage of the materials sourced from America

Can anyone tell me if the Dynamic Category Filters will allow me to create and assign this type of filtering?

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

    ... Connie Z

This is the info I found on the 3DCart site about this product:

    https://apps.3dcart.com/category-filters.html

    Dynamic Category Filters ($499)
Dynamic Category Filters provides functionality with the creation of a set of scripts that will automatically generate the categories/subcategories needed to be used as filters, and assign products to those categories dynamically based on:

If you're only looking to have filters within the category than the category filter app is all you need. To add a new filter you create a new category (Ex: Product Grade), then mark it as a category filter. After this you create the 5 grade ratings as sub categories, then attach these to the products.

Just noticed your update. If you want filters applied to your search I would say that fusionbot is the best option. Fusionbot has samples here: https://www.fusionbot.com/customers.asp

Thank you Joe! I had seen another thread covering FusionBot which you participated in, and commented there with some questions.
