  • How EXACTLY do you interpret this programming quote

This is in regards to Advanced Options that has been a topic lately. I had the opportunity to implement this and asked 3DCart the following (exact quotes from my ticket)

    Can I:
1.) Show the customer the number of each specific item in stock (for example if the options are red OR white OR blue - can they see how many of each I have?)

    Their response (exact quote):
    1. The amount in stock for each option is not something that can be shown automatically. However, I spoke to our designers and this could be added so it shows up on the website next to the options you have in stock. They can do this for you for $(some amount here). If this is something you want done please reply to this email confirming this and I will pass this on to a designer.

Please tell me what you believe they were quoting here. What would you expect to see if you accepted this quote?

I'm not sure what that means, but I do know it can be done because they did it for me. Here is an example:

When they click the specific color and options, it automatically shows how many of each are in stock.

Yes - they showed that to me as an example - I accepted then they doubled my quote.

Just exactly how am I NOT supposed to be upset about that?

        Hi Carla,
I looked at the ticket, and Jimmy Rodriguez answered explaining what the original quote was about. Also i must ask you in the future to not post ticket details on the forums, it is not what the forums are for, thanks. If you are not satisfied with the quote, you always have the option to not do the work, you are not required to go forward with a quote given by support dept.
