  • Tighten Line spacing on Options

    Does anyone know how to tighten the line spacing in the options?

    What I want:
    Personalization:
    Line 1: _______
    Line 2: ________
    Line 3: _______

    Instead it shows:
    Line 1: Enter text
    ________

    Line 2: Enter text
    _________

    Line 3: Enter text
    ___________

    The description is apparently required and so there is a space under each line. We need ten lines (not 20 with line spaces)

    Is there a template that already offers this layout option? I've seen some layouts on other stores that don't have spaces. Does this need to be changed on the product template?

    Likely will need to change the template file, but should be a simple change. Give a link to an example page.

      I think I'll need to move the description up and put the options below the description. Some of our items may have up to 10 options. I've been trying to change the template listing_3 (product is assigned Style 2), but no luck.

        In your template file will be a PRODUCT_OPTIONS_BLOCK with some code similar to this:

        Code:
        <!--START: text-format-->
        [value]: [oprice]<br>
        <input type="text" size="30" name="text[oname]" class="txtBoxStyle">
        <br>
        <!--END: text-format-->

        change that to:

        Code:
        <!--START: text-format-->
        [value]: [oprice]
        <input type="text" size="20" name="text[oname]" class="txtBoxStyle">
        <br>
        <!--END: text-format-->
        Should do it. Basically you're removing the <br> line break, and shortening the text field so it can fit in one line.

          Thank you. I appreciate your help.

          It's still not working. I had tried the <br> as well yesterday and although it showed fine in DW, it did not show on the product. So, I reverted to original.

          Maybe it's unrelated to the code and is a procedure issue?
          1. I'm using Listing template Style 2 in the Advanced setting
          2. I'm updating Listing_3.
          I'm clearing cache, reapplying the template in Advanced. And, it's not showing. Are you seeing the update on your browser?

          oops that's an https link. The dns has not been migrated yet. Any other ideas? Maybe my procedure is wrong?

          <!--START: textarea-format-->
          [value]: [oprice]<br>
          <textarea cols="30" rows="5" name="textarea[oname]" class="txtareaStyle"></textarea>
          <br>
          <!--END: textarea-format-->
          <!--START: text-format-->
          [value]: [oprice]
          <input type="text" size="20" name="text[oname]" class="txtBoxStyle">
          <br>
          <!--END: text-format-->

            Found the problem. I was editing the wrong listing. For style 2, it is Listing_1.
            Again, thanks for your help. I thought I was going crazy.

              That is a big pet peeve of mine--can't we have the styles match up to the listing numbers??? Drives me crazy to have to sit and remember, "is it one number up or one number down" after being in dormant editing mode for a while :)

                Yes. And, there's an easy fix for it. Just add (Style X) after the file name in the Template list.
                Listing_1.html (Style 2)

                    Well, I'm back at Options again. :) Does anyone know where I'd change the indentation of the Options from the Options Category? If I can remove some of the indention to the left a little bit, the line wouldn't break. (Even though I have removed the <br>, it is not honoring it all the time due to the frame width.
