  • Little cart in corner

    I am using template 32025 and want to have the little shopping cart icon & info in the top corner of my site (or the nav bar). It doesn't matter if your cart is empty or full, nothing shows. I have unselected the 'hide empty cart,' with no improvement. Does anyone have suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

    There is a little block of code that is needed on the Frame.html template and it is missing on your page.

      Thanks Ken! Is there a specific place to find the code? I searched the forums, but didn't see it. I assume it would go in the header section?

      I really appreciate your help!:)

        Load up a default frame.html file from one of the template folders, and look for the block of code that begins with:
        <!-- shopping cart start -->

          I pulled this from my global header

          <!--cart info here-->
          <P style="COLOR: #89508c; FONT-WEIGHT: bold"><SPAN style="COLOR: #000000; FONT-SIZE: 14pt"><EM>Shopping cart</EM></SPAN></P>
          <DIV class=menu-text>[ITEMSINCART] ITEM(S) in cart.<BR>TOTAL:[SUBTOTAL]</DIV>
          <DIV class=menu-text><A href="/view_cart.asp"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt">View Cart</SPAN></A>

          There's a lot of formatting garbage in there but I don't know my html well enough to take it out for you.

          Hope this helps

            Thanks, cekman! I just submitted a support ticket. It would appear my template (a standard 3dCart one) didn't have this little bit. I think it's essential, so hopefully they'll add it in.

            If not, I'm going to get creative with your code...

            Have a great weekend!

              Some templates have it others don't. Some have a detailed cart and some have just cart total. It's also shows up in different places depending on the template.

              It's a design feature. Most likely support will tell you to choose a template with it, add it yourself or offer to quote a price on it.

                Wow, Mondo. That sounds like less than optimal options. As a complete newbie with zero technical skills, I chose this program for its robust options. I'm incredibly proud of what I've done thus far, and can't fathom switching templates for something that's so basic. You literally can't get to your shopping cart within my template without putting something else in your cart. No way to get to the shopping cart. I'm stunned. Going to need another cup of coffee to process...

                Thanks for all your help, guys! This forum has been invaluable!

                  This bit of code inserts a "view cart" link.

                  <a href="view_cart.asp">View Cart</a>

                  Hope this helps...

                    Thanks everyone for their help! Support told me that there was supposed to be a section in my sidebar but that it's gone now. I've learned just enough to be dangerous :p so might have been the reason it's gone. Who knows. They offered to reset my frame file or send me a copy of the original. While waiting for the file, I tinkered a bit. kcummins, thank you for the link idea. I was planning on using that if I couldn't tweak cekman's.

                    cekman, I ended up using your code, with a little shopping cart icon (that's also clickable). My logo is in my header, so if I put any code into the global header, my logo disappears. Yikes! However, the code works beautifully in a sidebanner.

                    For anyone who's interested, here's the code:
                    Code:
                    <!--cart info here-->
                    <br/><br/>
                    <a href="/view_cart.asp" >
                    <img src="http://zephyrkites.com/assets/images/default/Shoppingcart_32x32.png" alt="Shopping Cart" ></a>
                    <DIV class=menu-text>[ITEMSINCART] ITEM(S) in cart.<BR>TOTAL:[SUBTOTAL]</DIV>
                    <DIV class=menu-text><A href="/view_cart.asp"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt">View Cart</SPAN></A>
                    Have a lovely rest of the weekend!
