  • Changing Background, Header & Menu Bar Colors

I have just started working on my second store here, and may use the same template I used the first time, but I need to change the colors. My new store sell clothes for premature babies and newborns. The original template is earth organic greens which was perfect for my organic store. But not good for babies.

I know how to change font colors but I have looked and looked and can not find where I would change the color of the top menu bar, the flowers and the shadowing in the very back.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Hmmm, so I have to change the image? Like here, she has the same template, but the things I want to change she has changed to the hot pink. Sexy Women's Lingerie, Swimwear, Costumes, Clubwear, Corsets and Bridal Lingerie - Sweet Mystique

Thank you for gathering me that info.

Yes, if you look at the one of the same images on that site it is a different color.

So you would need to colorize all those images to the color theme you want. It is pretty simple to do.

We had to do the same.
We started with 32014 because the font colors and color scheme was perfect so saved a ton of changes but took all the middle bar pics from 32007 then made our own title pics from scratch.

              So proud!

I have been learning and learning all day. I finally learned FTP and how to change the colors of various images. This is what several hours got me so far .

Now, I'm stumped. It's probably staring me right in the face. I want to change the green background to a different color. It is a png image and I have already changed the color, but I can't for the life of me find it in the code. It is not in my home page source code. The file is bg-top-item.PNG. I can't add the new one, until I find the first one.

              Background, where is it:confused:

I'm guessing you are changing the pic name to bg_top_item2 or something and need to change the name in the code.

check in the frame code near the top or check your style sheet.

Thanks Mondo, I go it. It was not the PNG file, even though it looks like the background. First I had to go to the CSS NOT:o where I got all the other images, and it was one of those slivers.

So hard learning this stuff on your own, but I am getting it

One of the easier ways to find what your looking for is to download the Safari browser. It has developer tools in it that show you the structure of the web pages. You can select areas of the web page and see the code. It gives you a good starting point when your trying to find things on a template.

FireBug for FireFox does the same thing but has a bug in it right now that will trash your internet speeds in FireFox by as much as 50%.
