  • Top menu bar, alignment

    On the top nav bar, I'd like to left-align the categories. Does anyone know where I edit this? I can see that the Frame_menu has <td align="center" (using the web inspector).

    are you talking about the menu links or the category links? If it is menu links you will just change the "center" to "left"

      I'm using Template 40001. Across the top, instead of using the "About Us", "Account" links, I went to Site Content and selected "Add Link". I added my categories that I wanted to show across the top. So, it does say menu links but my links are pointed to categories. I hope that is clear.

      Thanks for your response. Based on that info, can you guide me as to what css do I use to change the alignment?

        As long as you haven't modified the frame in that area you can paste this in from <!--START: FRAME_MENU--><!--END: FRAME_MENU--> in your frame template and that's all you will need to do.

        HTML Code:
        <!--START: FRAME_MENU--><table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
                  <tr>
                    <td width="5"><img src="assets/templates/[template]/images/navL.png" width="5" height="41" alt=""></td>
                    <td align="left" style="background: url(assets/templates/[template]/images/navBG.png) repeat-x;"><table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0">
                        <tr>
                          <td><img src="assets/templates/[template]/images/navDiv.png" width="2" height="41" alt=""></td>
                          <!--START: menuitems_view-->
                          <!--START: TOP_LINK_FORMAT-->
                          <td nowrap="nowrap"><a href="infopage.asp?page=[link_id]" class="menu" target="[link_target]">[link_name]</a></td>
                          <td><img src="assets/templates/[template]/images/navDiv.png" width="2" height="41" alt=""></td>
                          <!--END: TOP_LINK_FORMAT-->
                          <!--END: menuitems_view-->
                        </tr>
                      </table></td>
                    <td width="5"><img src="assets/templates/[template]/images/navR.png" width="5" height="41" alt=""></td>
                  </tr>
                </table>
            <!--END: FRAME_MENU-->
        You actually only need to change the <td align="center" to <td align="left" in your frame template. But the above will give you the whole section to paste in place of the old section.

        Unfortunately this is not a css rule so you will have to change it in your frame template.

          Thanks. I did that. I've cleared the cache but the left align is not displaying. Of interest is that if I make it a 2-line with <br>, the second word, is left-aligned. Any ideas?

          <!--START: FRAME_MENU--><table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
          <tr>
          <td width="5"><img src="assets/templates/[template]/images/navL.png" width="5" height="41" alt=""></td>
          <td align="left" style="background: url(assets/templates/[template]/images/navBG.png) repeat-x;"><table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0">
          <tr>
          <td><img src="assets/templates/[template]/images/navDiv.png" width="2" height="41" alt=""></td>
          <!--START: menuitems_view-->
          <!--START: TOP_LINK_FORMAT-->
          <td nowrap="nowrap"><a href="infopage.asp?page=[link_id]" class="menu" target="[link_target]">[link_name]</a></td>
          <td><img src="assets/templates/[template]/images/navDiv.png" width="2" height="41" alt=""></td>
          <!--END: TOP_LINK_FORMAT-->
          <!--END: menuitems_view-->
          </tr>
          </table></td>
          <td width="5"><img src="assets/templates/[template]/images/navR.png" width="5" height="41" alt=""></td>
          </tr>
          </table>
          <!--END: FRAME_MENU--></td>

          Actually, if I could keep the centering, that would be OK, if I could keep the 1st and 2nd lines wrapping centered. It would look nice, but when I try two lines they don't stay aligned together. .
