  • Form for submission

    Given my general lack of knowledge regarding web design, I'm almost afraid to ask this, but here goes. :)

    Our customers can sign up to receive our free color samples by mail prior to placing an order, and currently we are having to use a 3rd party to collect the information as Monster was unable to help us. We need to be able to download all of the addresses each day into an Excel spreadsheet, instead of receiving them by email. Can this be done in 3d?

    yes.

    I believe in the admin Settings >>> Design >> Site Content

    There is a Contact Us area.

    if not, heres the code we used to add the page.
    you can pretty much customize it however you want.

    <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="95%">
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td valign="top">
    <form name="fform" action="aspsendmail.asp" method="post"><input value="infopage.asp?page=4&extra=1" name="_redirect" type="hidden"> <input value="[store_name] : Contact Form" name="_subject" type="hidden"> <input value="contact" name="_pagetype" type="hidden">

      Thank you for that, but I thought that would only send you the data via email? If that is the case, then we would have to cut and paste every single address request into our spreadsheet for printing. I really need it to just be an exportable form. Am I right in thinking that the contact us form sends the result in individual emails???

        There is a customer export function in the cart... if your customers are signing up, then that data is stored (assuming you are using the customer functions of the cart already...)

        Read the knowledgebase article here:

        You can import/export a comma delimited file (csv) that can be used in an excel sheet or a db.

            You could even go one step further and create a customer group that is called something like "sample_request" and then have a link that says "click here to receive free color samples". You can actually set up a custom contact page that will create a new customer record and set it to the sample_request group. This way you could just export these and not your other accounts such as new ones that are ordering for the first time.
