  • Is there a way to do this for featured?

    Hi all. 1: I wanted to know if someone can help me to do my featured products background like this site: China Wholesale - Buy China Phone, Car DVD, Spy gadgets and more China Electronics at pandawill.com.

    I tried but with no luck. I just wanted to make it smaller and with the above bg and 5 items per line. Any help will be great. This is the code i have now:

    <!--START: FEATURE_MENU-->
    <tr>
    <td class="titles" height="30">[category_Header-specials]</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td align="center"><table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5" width="100%" align="center">
    <!--START: CATEGORY_ITEMS-->
    <!--START: ITEM_TEMPLATE_0-->
    <table cellspacing="5" cellpadding="5" border="0" width="95%" class="alternative">
    <tr>
    <td align="center" height="80"><div style="overflow: hidden; height: 80px;"><a href="product.asp?itemid=[catalogid]"><img src="thumbnail.asp?file=[THUMBNAIL]&maxx=75&maxy=0" alt="[name]" border="0" /></a></div></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td class="item" align="center" height="30"><a href="product.asp?itemid=[catalogid]">[name]</a></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td class="price2" valign="top" align="center"><!--START: ITEMPRICE-->[product_yourprice]*[ITEMPRICE]
    <!--END: ITEMPRICE-->
    <!--START: SALEPRICE-->
    <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
    <td colspan="2" align="center" class="item" nowrap="nowrap"><s>[product_yourprice]*[ITEMPRICE]</s></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td colspan="2" align="center" class="item" nowrap="nowrap"><table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2">
    <tr>
    <td nowrap="nowrap" class="price2">[product_onsale]:*[ITEMSALEPRICE]</td>
    <td align="right"><img src="assets/templates/common/images/on_sale.png" alt="On Sale" hspace="5" border="0" /></td>
    </tr>
    </table></td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <!--END: SALEPRICE--></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td class="item" align="center" valign="middle"><input type="button" value="[category_buyitlink]" onclick="window.location='add_cart.asp?quick=1&ite m_id=[catalogid]'" class="btn" onmouseover="this.className='btn_over'" onmouseout="this.className='btn'" /></td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <!--END: ITEM_TEMPLATE_0-->
    <!--END: CATEGORY_ITEMS-->
    </table></td>
    </tr>
    <!--END: FEATURE_MENU-->

    Add a CSS class to the template

    This would be a lot easier if the template had no tables...
    Not a big deal if you know some CSS and HTML.

    here is what I suggest.

    1) create a gradient image in photoshop make it height=100px (the height of the gradient) width=1px and save it as a .png - eg. item-bg.png

    Advance css user, yes you can do the gradient with css only but you will have to hack it for IE

    2) add a class to the template table eg. "item-class".

    <!--START: ITEM_TEMPLATE_0-->
    <table cellspacing="5" cellpadding="5" border="0" width="95%" class="alternative item-class">
    <tr>............

    3) style the class as you like and add it to your default.css file.
    .item-class {
    background: url("../images/item-bg.png") repeat-x bottom transparent;
    }

    I havent tested this but give it a try.

    Hope it works for you.
    - Peace
