  • Category output stripping my formattting?

    Anybody explain why when I put this in my frame.html it strips out my format (ie. taking out my <li></li>)

    <!--START: FRAME_CATEGORY-->
    <ul class="nav nav-pills nav-stacked">
    <!--START: CATEGORIES-->
    <!--START: CATEGORY_FORMAT-->
    <li><a href="view_category.asp?cat=CATID">CATEGORY </a></li>
    <!--END: CATEGORY_FORMAT-->
    <!--END: CATEGORIES-->
    </ul>
    <!--END: FRAME_CATEGORY-->

    Also for note this is only viewable in the templates preview mode. Client won't let me test live.

    Try putting the UL tags outside of the FRAME_CATEGORY comments

    like so:

    <ul class="nav nav-pills nav-stacked">
    <!--START: FRAME_CATEGORY-->
    <!--START: CATEGORIES-->
    <!--START: CATEGORY_FORMAT-->
    <li><a href="view_category.asp?cat=CATID">CATEGORY </a></li>
    <!--END: CATEGORY_FORMAT-->
    <!--END: CATEGORIES-->
    <!--END: FRAME_CATEGORY-->
    </ul>

        Why don't you go (settings-->design-->"Close Store")

        Select "close store" at the top and at the bottom click "add my ip"

        This will allow only you to view the store. Thus keeping the site not live to everyone else.

        You can also add your clients IP manually so that they can view the changes along with you.

          wish I could close the store

          The client has an existing store online doing business so I can't close it.

          Question - Is the preview mode unreliable? I did as mtbottens said to as far as moving outside of the FRAME_CATEGORY comment and worked perfect now this morning I go into preview and it's injecting table code again?

          Or just dropping my formatting altogether and just using links?

          <ul class="dropdown-menu">
          <!--START: FRAME_CATEGORY-->
          <tr>
          <td height="20" align="left"><a href="Air-Scenters_c_91.html" class="cat">Air Scenters</a></td>
          </tr>

          <tr>
          <td height="20" align="left"><a href="Books-Software_c_29.html" class="cat">Books & Software</a></td>
          </tr>

          <tr>
          <td height="20" align="left"><a href="Candle-Holders-Giftware_c_242.html" class="cat">Candle Holders & Giftware</a></td>
          </tr>

          <tr>
          <td height="20" align="left"><a href="Candlemaking-_c_23.html" class="cat">Candlemaking </a></td>
          </tr>

            I would avoid using preview mode. Its like using a middle man in any situation. Doesn't turn out well. Do a free trial through 3dcart and then build in there. Or better off, fork out the $19 and get a mini plan. All much more reliable than using preview mode. And a lot easier to work with
