  • Change the div - mainContent

    Hi,

    Does anyone know where we can change the width of our 'mainContent' div?

    We are doing the 'Inspect Element' thru Firefox and see that it is 717px, but can't find out where to find that number to tweak it.

    Any help would be awesome.

    Thank you,

    You have a leftBar div in the code that has a width of 231. Even though it is empty, it will be used to compute the width of the other elements.

    HTML Code:
        <!--START: LEFT BAR-->
        <aside id="leftBar" class="leftBar">
          <div class="column" id="column1">
            <!--START: LEFT_BAR_BLOCKS-->
            <!--START: FRAME_MANUFACTURER--><!--END: FRAME_MANUFACTURER-->
            <!--START: FRAME_BYPRICE--><!--END: FRAME_BYPRICE-->

            <!--START: LEFT_BANNER-->
            <div id="leftBanner">
    </div>
            <!--END: LEFT_BANNER-->
            <!--END: LEFT_BAR_BLOCKS-->
          </div>
        </aside>
        <!--END: LEFT BAR-->
    If you go to Settings => Design => Titles & Content and select Home Page. If you check "hide left bar", the template will remove all the html for the home page and allow the maincontent to use the full width on the home page.

      Thank You

      I have been working on this 5 hours and you just saved me who knows how many more hours!

      Thank you so much - You are 100% correct and I didn't take the left or right nav's into account.

      Thank you again :-)

        What if you want a margin on the right side of #mainContent?

        Since that width is auto calcualted somehow it will negate any efforts to add a margin on the right. I've tried, it gets overriden.
