I think I've got my front-end ready for my 3Dcart launch - still have some admin/background functions to go. I've been looking at this too many times and know from having moved to a new cart three other times I can miss something, and would appreciate any comments, as I'm sure I'm overlooking something:

You don't have a dedicated SSL cert yet.

You have not enabled captcha or recaptcha on your contact form.

Thanks -- I'm aware about the SSL -- I have it ordered but not installed since I'm not sure if it will cause any sort of conflicts with our current cert on our domain (Volusion store). As far as captcha -- is that recommended? I find it to be a pain when I have to use it.

I don't use it for the reason you cite. I hate having to fill that stuff in and my customers do also. If they want to send a message they want to send it, not have to prove their human to do it. I don't have tons of traffic and that might make a difference, but I haven't enabled it in all the time I've been with 3dc and haven't had a bunch of spam or anything?

Why do you have it on your account registration page?

Don't get me wrong, I find it to be a pain, too. Crooks and hackers ruin life for all of us.

Were you on Storefront a while back? I think I remember your store, if I don't have it confused with another bird store. We moved from StoreFront a couple of years back and could not be happier.
My one comment is that it takes going through two pages of subctegories before I see an Add to Cart button. So

Food & Treats >> Food Blends >> Kaylor of Colorado and only when you click on that last category, do you see any items to buy. Could be too much work for many people.

I would also add the items up the category ladder, so customers can browse and buy in step one or two instead of step four.

elightbox -- thanks -- yes, we were on Storefront -- that was four carts ago! :-) -- I've gone back and forth on structure -- on our current (Volusion) site, we go even deeper on some levels -- but folks who are looking for, Kaylor, for example, don't want to wade through Kaylor and Volkman and Goldenfeast all together to find what they are looking for. I am also considering the breakout menu add-on so customers can go direct to that level -- once we go live, I'm going to see what comments are.

Glad to have you here. I am happy that I came straight to 3dcart from StoreFront. That was one horrible cart. It was good when we started with it, but it did not keep up with the times.
3dcart has had constant updates since we have been here. Not perfect by any means, but definitely a huge step up.
