  • Quick thoughts?

I am always one of those people that think it " needs to be better".
Does my site grab you as tropical and professional via first impression?
    https://www.islandjay.com/

    thanks!

I think it has a nice clean look to it. Perhaps where is is white on the side, put some very faded looking palm trees as a wallpaper background, where it stays still upon scrolling. One note: on the bottom where you say contact us, it is not clickable. One would assume the envelope or the email address to be clickable. [email protected]

Always heard mixed reviews for bots and making that a link or not. Same with wallpaper. To me that seems like clutter, but that is just me?
Does the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee stick out?

I was thinking palm trees to make it more tropical. The Guarantee does not really stick out, but can easily be noticed. I do like the look of the site, but it is not very tropical, the site itself that is. The products are what brings the tropical to your site. I would purchase from your site, it seems clean and easy to navigate.

Your site looks great. Very clean look and feel.

Regarding the clickable email link, I would make it clickable. It's expected behavior for a lot of folks, and for the rest, they can copy/paste like normal.

If you customer service email address stays around for any length of time, bots are going to get it despite your best intentions (someone will post it someplace, etc...). There are some cool things you can do to mask the email address from dumb bots, but smarter ones can still glean it. Cloudflare (and other javascript libraries) will convert your email addresses to a bunch of random characters. When a human views your page via a web browser, it executes some javascript which "decrypts" the random characters and then displays the actual email address. When a bot views your page, most often they don't execute javascript (they just read the raw html and look for things to scrape), so they don't see your email address.

In addition, you can make your phone number clickable (for mobile users) too. This enables the "tap to call" functionality you see when searching google from your mobile and what-not. :)

IslandJay You are doing quite well. Everything that needs to be pushed to the forefront seems to be doing so without detracting too much from other areas. At first glance though, you do lose track of the cat menu itself because the bold orange of the free shipping naturally pulls your eyes away from the menu. If you drop the free shipping text to about 20px and use a font-weight:600, I think you may have a bit better balance in that area so not to overpower one element next to the other.

Your phone number will actually link automatically as (click to call) with most all current mobile browsers when it shows as this numeric tel format 000-000-0000 . In most cases you don't have to link it at all since the mobile browsers are smart enough to figure out what it is.

Now, if you want to link it anyway so that someone can skype call from their computer which is becoming more popular,
you can do so by adding your link like so to your #(make sure you add your country code like so +1 as shown in the link path: <a href="tel:+15555555555">555-555-5555</a>

I like it, but I think I like it better with a Island background image. I dont know, here is a quick and dirty version I mocked up. http://snag.gy/utSzW.jpg

ForcedFabllc that is what I was talking about with Palm Trees, perhaps not quite as bold as the picture you have, but a nice "dirty version".

Yeah I had the same vision, that was just one of the first images I came across that was large enough and had trees on the edge and beach on the other edge to give it a beach like feel.

Makes me want to go back to the keys. I agree with Pack Secure that a very faded looking palm tree wallpaper background would be appropriate. Also, is it necessary to have your NH address in the front page? Have you considered a mail forwarding address in the Keys for snail mail?

My only comment would be the first slider, where you have a kind of fake 3D effect with the shirt, is strange when the next slide pops up and it's visually a different size. Color wise, I think blue could be more of a pop color, rather than everything being blue? Green would make it feel more tropic for me! #03e255 is a Tetradic color off of your blue color. Idk. I like the style tho!
