  • Top of Page Field

One of the few advantages that my old cart had over 3d was having a "top-of-the-page" field - they called it "Above Title" - or something similar -- but it was a small text field that you could use to bring attention to something important -- ie., if you have a clearance product with a close expiration date -- I find that many customers don't even scroll down to read the Product Description, they then complain when they get something that they failed to read about. Or you can use it for a special price on an item, new product, etc. Anyway, I have put in a User Voice suggestion if any one would care to vote on it:

Birdsafe You might want to look at 3dcartupsell App, or Shaun at the thecartdesigner http://www.thecartdesigner.com has a drop down banner.

I appreciate the idea -- I could use getsitecontrol without incurring a $25/month charge -- but I'm trying to avoid added code and third-party add-ons. just thought it would be simple to add a small field to the product page.

Birdsafe Any which way you will have to go in and add or change the available coding in the listing page if that is where you want it to be. I would suggest just using one of the "extra fields" and putting it somewhere (maybe directly under) the title. If you add a class to it, you can control its appearance much easier.

My sale drop banner could work for what you need and it is not a 3rd party service. Just a code block that you would control. But at the same time it may be more than what you need as suggested above. I myself am not a fan of 3rd party widgets. Although if you do go that direction I do like Sumo in personal preference comparison.

thecartdesigner -- thanks - will keep that in mind -- my first preference would be 3d incorporating it into a future release. Never thought of using another field and moving it, though. My coding/css skills are modest, but I might tackle it. Thanks again.

Birdsafe Also check Slick Modal on http://codecanyon.net/item/slick-mod...opups/12335988

It is $7, and works beautifully, and it is code light. He just added code, on my suggestion, to only make it show on pages with a certain string in the URL. So you can make it only show on Listing pages "_p_", or whatever.
I do not get a commission on this, just making a suggestion.
