  • Anyone else now notice their ups negotiated rates are NOT LINKED!

Not sure when this happened - my best guess is when ups updated their rates perhaps when 3dcart did a recent update? This is killing our business - I've been testing the system this am by oging into ups and placing packages into their system using counter rates (non negotiated rates) and then using our negotiated rates. Our shopping cart now reflects counter rates!

I then went into 3dcart to see if anything changed and tested the connection between our store and ups - the test states everything is good - then I placed a fake password into the ups password field within 3dcart - tested the connection again - connection is good. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE - there should be an error as 3dcart servers ARE NOT connecting to ups thus all of our shipping calculations are based off counter rates now.

Our discount rates with ups are based on distance and weight since we ship heavy items. This has totally messed up our business - at first we thought dang UPS really increased some surcharges to specific zip codes but then I tested it all over the U.S. and verified that 3dcart is using standard counter shipping rates and NOT our negotiated rates and the link is not linked between ups and 3dcart!

Super ticked this am - why is it that things are always tweaked or changed without us doing anything???

I'll attach the area that you can test for your store - change your ups password within 3dcart by going to Settings>Shipping>Shipping Settings>UPS Show Credentials> and see what happens - you should get an error message - if you do not you will want to go to ups - https://wwwapps.ups.com/calTimeCost?...WT.svl=PNRO_L1 and test an example - take a weight, zip code etc. and use counter rates as a test and see what amount you get - then place your account info and see what rates you get - then head back to your 3dcart store.

Place an item into your shopping cart and enter the same zip code that you tested at UPS - now depending what your markups are with UPS within your 3dcart store you can see if you negotiated rates are being used n your shopping cart.

We used an easy markup number at 3dcart 20% for ground shipments. We test it out and 3dcart is using 20% markups for counter rates and not 20% from our negotiated rates for ground shipments!

We need our negotiated UPS rates to be linked again - system test fails as you should not be able to put it the wrong ups password and 3dcart still states ups and 3dcart linked - it's impossible with the wrong password! So change the field in bill below on your 3dcart store to a bogus password and see if you store states that the test passed with a wrong password. If it does your rates are not be reflected as well!

I think you are correct. It has seemed odd, off and on for a while. I tested one shipment Thursday and the rates were different from 3dcart to UPS.com.

I did the password test also. Change username, password, even account number and the test shows as working.

it looks like 3dcart is already working on ours as now the negotiated rates with the markup % is again showing in our shopping cart for a gallon of honey shipping to 07410 is $15.95 versus the $19.20 before! I'm thinking many folks who have negotiated rates via ups that the link between 3dcart and ups is or was not working. Brtp4 tests yours again and see if yours are now correct?

You can log into ups and see what your negotiated rate would be as you can calculate time and cost using a weight and zip code and then compare to your shopping cart ups charge.

PackSecure - why would the test on 3dcart state that ups and 3dcart were linked and everything was fine when it was not linked? Ours was fixed yesterday but no news on our ticket yet and keeping an eye on things!

I have not received any reply on our ticket and the issue has still not been fixed. This has happened in the past, unfortunately. I think the link that does the test is broken, as well.

Pack Secure Sorry about not getting a response on this in time. This seems to be an issue our developers have to look at. There was a ticket submit to them today based off the information in your ticket and doing some testing. Once they have any updates you should get notified via the ticket you submitted. Thanks for everyone's patience while we look into this!

Pack Secure - best thing to do is to place something into your shopping cart and enter a zip code and you know it weighs 12 pounds to ship it, see what rate is displayed on your website. Then log into ups with your account info and calculate time and cost going to this same zip code weighing 12 pounds. Make sure you state on the ups site to use your negotiated rates. I sent support a bunch of pictures with our ticket and step by step showing them what our website was displaying as we had a markup on our website versus the actual ups rate but I demonstrated to 3dcart that our website was using standard counter rates and was too high.

I could also validate the rate by using shipstation that we use to ship packages - the rate shown on shipstation should match up exactly with ups. Now if you have a 10% markup from your negotiated rates then you would add 10% to your negotiated rates and this is what shipping should be showing on your website shopping cart.

They fixed our website in a matter of minutes and then the cost matched exactly what was being shown at shipstation and then when we added our markup to our negotiated rates it matched up to the rate showing on our website. But I would reocmmend sending them a bunch of screenshots demonstrating what the rate should be showing.

Pack Secure - I wish I knew what they did to our site to help you out - our site was using counter rates completely as we matched up counter rates to what was showing on our site with our markup. Once I sent them a bunch of screen shots from ups.com - shipstation - and 3dcart and our website and gave them step by step on what was happening - someone somewhere at 3dcart relinked our website with our negotiated rates. Whenever there is an update of some type cross our fingers as things always get messed up somewhere and sometimes it takes a few days to discover it. Hope they get your rates relinked to your website.

I have directed them to this thread, sent them screenshots and gave them the last ticket we had in September with a very similar issue. What bothers me is that days go by and I hear nothing.
