  • Positioning Custom Fields

    Has anyone ever repositioned any of the custom fields? if so, how? I would like to have a short field either right above or right below the Product Name

    Thanks

    Assuming that you mean what 3dcart calls "extra fields," you need to put the entire extra fields block into position in the html on your listing file. You can style it as you like. The first variable is the name of the extra field and the second is the content. Just change the DIVs and H-tag from the example below to match your design.

    Code:
              <!--START: extrafields-->
                    <h4>[product_extrafield2]</h4>
                    <div>[extra_field_2]</div>
                  <!--END: extra_field_2-->
               <!--END: extrafields-->

        Thanks - that helps. Question: can you have two sections of <!START: extraifelds>?? I.e, if I wanted say, extra field 2 above the title, but Extra Field 1 below everything?

              Yes, I did -- thanks. But looking at your code you moved the entire extrafield section all together. I want to split it in two places and need to know if/how I can do that.

                You might not need that part twice. I've got extra fields in different spots and only one has the start/end extrafields tag wrapped around it.

                  Birdsafe No you don't need to move that code block with each extra field. for example if you showing all extra fields at bottom of the page and only want to show extra filed 3 on top of the page just below the products name, all you need to do is move this block below product name div or section.

                  <!--START: extra_field_3-->
                  <div class="extra_field">
                  <h4>[product_extrafield3]</h4>
                  <div class="info">[extra_field_3]</div>
                  <div class="clear"></div>
                  </div>
                  <!--END: extra_field_3-->
