  • Replace http with https

I need to change all occurrences of http: to https: on my website. There are 20,000+ pages. Doing it manually is going to be a huge job. Is there an easier way.

If its item's descriptions that you are referring to that have hard coded HTTP links, then, do an export, (just need catalogid, extended_description, don't include columns you don't need so export can go faster), then, open file in excel, search & replace http:// for https://, then import back up to update the descriptions.

Can I import 1 sku with just catalogid, extended_description to test it? The last time I did an Import we had to restore the server. All the products got smashed.

Sure you can do a test like that first to make sure you got it all right..

Never mind, I see 3dcart doesn't export the data correctly. All jumbled up. Description written to the id field.

mikescarb it's not 3dcart exporting incorrectly, it's the options you're choosing when importing into excel. Try opening a blank doc in excel and doing import from csv on the data tab. I import and export all the time and never have a problem. What you're describing is possibly excel using all of your commas as delimiters inappropriately or you're just opening it and not explicitly using the comma as a delimiter when excel opens. You can prevent this by choosing the right import options in excel.

Thanks that helped. Got the Products to work. The Categories is another story. It appears that you get all fields when exporting Categories. I'm not sure about deleting the columns I don't want changed. Doesn't take much to blow away the product listings.

You have to import the ID fields but you can delete any other columns that you don't want to change as long as the columns stay in the same order from left to right.
